Mystery Box Update

Hello everyone,

Today is a bad news day – unfortunately we won’t be doing a mystery box this year. If you’re wondering, Mystery Box Joel is taking this very, very hard.  

I’ll explain why:

1) The margins don't work.

You may remember that one of the big reasons we changed to a direct-to-consumer business model was that we were approaching a point where we needed to raise our prices. By selling direct we were able to avoid that, and instead made that extra margin by not having to give a cut to dealers. 

How this relates to the Mystery Box: They have smaller margins by design, because they’re heavily discounted and also include extras like bonus pedals from other companies. This is okay on its own, the issue is that the tariffs implemented in 2025 are also squeezing our margins from the other side. For now we’re choosing to absorb the costs of those tariffs, but it just makes the Mystery Box pricing unfeasible when you add it all together. 

2) Lack of inventory. 

Last year we had a good amount of inventory, and that’s just not the case this year. We've been playing catch up most of the year with Brothers AM, and we'll also be shipping Lost + Found until late in the year. We’re working hard to build our stock back, and we also want to focus on the orders you’ve already placed and get them to you as soon as possible.  


That’s about it. It’s a bummer, we had a blast doing the Mystery Box last year and I know you did too. But it isn’t gone forever, it just doesn’t quite make sense for this season.
